Army Rugby League is in its 10th year of competing in the Challenge Cup and is proud to be here in Featherstone, a hotbed of Rugby League.  We are also proud of our short history having reached the 3rd Round of the competition on two occasions, most recently last season losing out against a strong Oldham side.

Army teams always struggle being able to select a stable team with the very nature of our job having to react to Operational Commitments.  It is notable this season that we expect over 50% of the squad to be unavailable for selection at some stage, a good proportion for the whole season.  That is why we reach out as much as practical to ensure that there is a large pool of players to call on, currently at about 55.

This is our third outing in the Challenge Cup this year, with the Prelim Round being postponed once, this is the fourth team selected.  Already we have used some 27 players with more changes to follow today.  We look forward to putting out a strong team into what will prove to be a very tough encounter.  We very much look forward to meeting everyone at Featherstone and forming some lasting friendships.

Here is to a great game of Rugby, in the greatest game, in the greatest competition of all,

The Challenge Cup.
